MicroSD cards are used to store information on many devices: cameras, smartphones, or tablets. However, they can be easily damaged and lose the data they hold.
The microSD memory card can be damaged for various reasons: for example, if you remove it without pushing it securely or remove it without turning off the mobile device. It can also be damaged if you leave it inserted for too long on your computer in sleep or hibernate mode or when you restart or shut down the computer. Your computer will also not be able to read files from the microSD card if infected with malware. It is therefore recommended to analyze the tag with an antivirus program before opening the content.
How to Repair a Micro SD Memory Card |
Before repairing your microSD card, we recommend you to download Recuva and try to recover as much information as possible.
– Insert the microSD card into the computer.
– Right-click on the memory card’s drive and select Properties.
Go to the Tools tab and click Check. If the scan indicates that the card is locked, move the sidebar to protect it from text and reinsert it in the computer reader.
If the results show that the card is empty, go to Folder Options. Go to the View tab, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and click the OK button.
