Some Windows 10 users were getting Windows Update error 0x80080008 when the installation was canceled when trying to perform the update. Windows 10 Mobile users have also experienced this error. Many users who installed the latest version of Windows 10 have confirmed that they encountered this error during installation. When you run the Windows Update troubleshooter, the problem may be temporary and restart with an error message like “Service registration is missing or corrupt”.

Update error code 0x80080008 stands for CO_E_SERVER_STOPPING – the server object terminates after being called through the OLE service. This error is caused because the Wups2.dll file included in the latest Windows Update version was not installed incorrectly.
