Today in this topic, we will discuss a strange error found in the Windows 10 operating system. This error is related to the Lock Screen Wallpaper.

Sửa lỗi Lock Screen Hiển thị nền đen trong Windows 10

We know that we can change the Lock Screen wallpaper in Windows 10. Also, we can display the Lock Screen background image in Windows 10. But sometimes, the lock screen doesn’t show up, shows the selected background image. It shows black as the background, and when we press any key to bring up the login screen, it shows the chosen background image.

It’s Windows 10’s odd behavior as Screen Lock Screen and entering both should show selected wallpapers. But in some cases, only Login Screen shows custom wallpapers. Lock Screen doesn’t show any background images.

When I investigated this error, I found that the issue was caused by an “Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing” option present in the Advanced Performance section of System Properties.

If “Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing” uncheck the option and options Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen” Enabled in the Settings app, Screen Lock shows black background images. If we disable the “Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen” option, the Lock Screen starts displaying the selected background image.

So if you want to disable the “Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing” option but want to show custom wallpapers on the lock screen, you will have to disable the option “Show lock screen background images Screen on the login screen ”in Other Apps Settings Lock Screen will not display the selected background image.

Suppose you want to display the selected background image on both the Lock screen as well as the login screen. Then you will have to enable the “Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing” option in System Properties.

You can enable or disable the “Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing” option in Windows using the following simple steps:

1. Press the “Win + R” keys together to open the RUN dialog box. You can also launch it using the Win + X menu.

2. Now type sysdm.cpl into the Run dialog box and press Enter. It will open the System Properties window.

sysdm.cpl

3. Now go to the “Advanced” tab and click on the “Settings” Current “Performance” button.

System Properties

4. It will open a new window. Now you can enable or disable the option “Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing” and apply changes.

To enable or disable the option “Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen”, use the following steps:

1. Press WIN + I keys together to open the Settings app.

2. Now go to “Personalization -> Lock screen” and set the option “Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen” to On or Off.

The bottom line is that if you want to keep the option “Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing” disabled and want to display custom wallpapers on both the Lock and Login Screen, it is impossible. You can disable animations and wallpapers displayed on Lock Screen only or enable animations and show background images on both Lock and entered Screens.
