If your PC came with Windows 7 preinstalled, chances are you didn’t get a system repair disc or Windows installation DVD with it.
The problem is that eventually, you will need a way to repair or reinstall Windows because your computer S failed to boot up properly at some point due to a bad hard drive, virus, or some other problem.
Trust me, a corrupt file system or SW hard drive error happens sooner or later, and if you don’t have a system repair disc and recent backup on hand, your computer will be useful like broken glass.
Fortunately, the tasks of creating a system repair disc and backing up your hard drive are pretty easy to do with Windows 7. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
To create a system repair disc
1 – Click “ Start ”.
2 – Click “ Control Panel ”.
3 – Click “ Back up your computer ”.
4 – Click “ Create a system repair disc ”.
5 – Insert a blank DVD into the computer DVD burner and click “ Create Disc ”.
To back up the hard drive
1 – Click “ Start ”.
2 – Click “ Control Panel ”.
3 – Click “ Back up your computer ”.
4 – Click “ Create a system image ”.
5 – Windows will check to see which backup device is available on your system. You can always make your backups on a stack of blank DVDs, but I recommend using an external USB 3.0 hard drive. Choose a backup device. Make sure you have a couple of blank DVDs if you choose that option.
