Windows Firewall is software that checks information coming from the Internet or the network and then blocks it or allows it to pass through your computer, depending on your firewall settings.

Step 1: To Download a shortcut “Windows Firewall”

1. Click the download button below to download the Windows_Firewall.zip file.

2. Click Save and save the .zip file to your Desktop.

3. Open the .zip file and extract the Windows Firewall shortcut for the Desktop.

4. Unblock Windows Firewall shortcuts.

5. In Windows 7, you can now Pinpoint Taskbar or Pin to Start Menu, add it to Quick Launchassign a shortcut to it, or move the shortcut to where you like for easy use.

6. In Windows 8 and 8.1, you can Pin to the desktop Taskbar, Pin to Start screen, add to Quick Launch, assign a shortcut to it, or move the shortcut where you like for ease of use.

7. When done, you can delete the downloaded .zip file from your desktop if you want or save it for reuse.

Step 2: Create a “Windows Firewall” manually

1. Right-click an empty area on the desktop, and click on New and Shortcut.

2. Copy and cross or below location into location area and click Next button. (See picture below)

3. Type Windows Firewall for the name, and click the Finish button. (See screenshot below)
Note: You can name whatever you want.

4. Right-click the new Windows Firewall shortcut on the Desktop and click Properties.

5. Click the Shortcut tab, and then click the Change Icon button. (See picture below)

6. In the line “Look for icons in this file”, copy and paste the location below and press Enter. (See picture below)

7. Select the icon highlighted in blue above and click OK. (See screenshot above)
Note: You can use whatever icon you want instead.

8. Click OK. (See picture below)
