Degeneration brings the story of WilPharma with biological terrorist plots under the skin of a pharmaceutical company that makes a T-virus vaccine.
As most of us know, unlike the live-action series, the CG films of Resident Evil are set in the background with all the events taking place in the main game series. Therefore, although these films are not appreciated for their professional film, still attractive and worth watching for fans of the Resident Evil series; in these movies, we will meet familiar characters in the game with interesting developments that the game will not mention. Continuing the series on the History of Resident Evil, we come to the first CG movie called Resident Evil: Degeneration with WilPharma.
The movie is set a year after Resident Evil 4, starting with a familiar series of news stories about past events from the T-virus outbreak in Raccoon City, the alleged Umbrella Corporation, and bankruptcy. Later, when WilPharma established and continued his research in India, General Grande officially ruled the Republic of Bajirib, the US government’s T-virus damage efforts, which opposed human experimentation. by Wilpharma by the NGO NGO Save …
The first familiar character to appear was Claire Redfield, at which point she became a member of the Terra Save organization itself to fight against the shady actions of WilPharma. Terra Save is protesting at Harvardville airport where Senator Ron Davis (WilPharma’s adviser) is about to ask him to answer evidence that WilPharma is illegally experimenting on him. Claire was also present, but to visit acquaintances and her niece Rani, Ron Davis escaped from the airport by the back door to avoid the press and the protesting team.
While the situation was chaotic because the press attacked Ron Davis and a fanatic member of Terra Save, suddenly a person with signs of T-virus infection appeared and bit the airport protection. The senator’s bodyguard opened fire but only made the situation worse, and at the same time, the plane with infected WilPharma employees crashed into the airport. The chaos quickly turned into a bi-terrorist attack when infectious victims attacked ordinary people, prompting the government to promptly blockade the area and dispatch special forces to handle and rescue MPs. Claire, Rani, Ron Davis, and another anonymous man were evacuated in the VIP area before the curtain fell.
Sent to the mission include two SRT members (Special React Team), Angela Miller and Greg Glenn, under the too familiar character, Leon S. Kennedy. Leon is the government agent assigned to handle this case. He also requested two people to support ( because the more people, the greater the risk of being infected). The three-person team went to the scene with a rooftop terrace. Leon reminded Angela and Greg to attack the infected people by shooting them in the head. Still, the two quickly disobeyed, resulting in almost being killed by the corpses.
Speaking of the survivors’ association, Claire heard the cries of other people for help. Hence, she defied the danger of holding a bright red umbrella (exactly the umbrella-like Umbrella) to look for. Fortunately, she immediately met with Leon’s rescue team, who quickly implemented a plan to escape through the corridor despite the dead congressman’s objection. On the way to escape, Greg was bitten while defending Senator Davis. He voluntarily stayed behind to give them all the time to run. The senator then mercilessly kicked Rani down to find a way to live alone, causing Claire and Leon almost to lose their lives when saving her. They then safely got out and saw many of WilPharma’s cars were on the scene.
Leon contacted Hunnigan to report the situation, and she also said that the results of the investigation showed that it was true that the T-virus had broken out there. The government urgently mobilized the coping force, and at the same time, initially caught the suspect being a member of the Grande in Los Angeles. Claire became angry when she saw WilPharma arrive at the scene and asked why. The gray-haired man she met at the airport earlier appeared and introduced himself as Frederic Downing. He also explained why WilPharma was here because it was originally working on a vaccine to protect against T- virus. All the special forces who participated this time have been vaccinated. Claire realized that Terra Save was ultimately why WilPharma was unable to continue producing the vaccine, and she became frustrated by everything she had done.
Suddenly, all the cars containing WilPharma’s vaccine exploded, the medicine in the car was, of course, destroyed. Frederic said it was all the vaccines they had made, not to mention the data about its preparation process also melted into dust by the explosion. Everyone thinks this is an act of terrorism. Leon also said that the terrorists demand the truth about the US government involved in making T-virus. Otherwise, they will spread the virus around the USA within 6 hours. Claire claims she saw Curtis Miller, a former scientist who worked for WilPharma and is accused of several acts of terrorism, appeared at the airport at the time of the riots. She assumed Curtis was involved, but Angela dismissed that possibility because she said she was Curtis Miller’s sister, and her brother would never do that.
At this point, everyone split in two directions. Leon and Angela went to Curtis’s residence to look for more clues, while Frederic asked Claire to go to WilPharma’s headquarters to find the vaccine’s original data. This place was built in a hanging garden with four pieces and a research center located on the 0th floor. While leading Claire, Frederic accidentally revealed that they were also studying G here. -virus, at that moment, the Senator’s phone immediately interrupted the conversation. He threatened Frederic not to let Claire know more than she should know. Claire demanded and was shown evidence of G-virus acquired by the company from the black market for research on vaccines. At this time, Frederic also revealed that Senator Davis was the one who ordered the bombing of Raccoon City. Too shocked by the truth, Claire immediately phoned Leon despite Frederic’s insist, he told him to go out to fix something and then disappear.
Continuing to talk about Leon and Angela’s side, the two who came to Curtis’s house immediately saw that it had been burned down. Helpless Angela said her brother is also the victim of the event in Racoon City. Curtis lost his wife and children there. He was always indignant and wanted to take revenge on those who had caused his tragedy from then on. Claire’s phone call came when Frederic warned of a time bomb and an intruder. Claire only realized it was Curtis when the entire area exploded, interrupting her phone call with Leon. Immediately, Leon and Angela moved to the headquarters of WilPharma to rescue.
Upon arriving, Leon decided to detach so he could search faster. He met Claire again because her leg was injured, but Claire only tried to inform Leon that Curtis was here. He had brought the T-virus to the 4th-floor area. Angela was going to spy on the floor area. 4, he immediately reunited with his brother. He seems to be in severe pain. Curtis told Angela that he could not forgive the government because of the dirty things they concealed in Raccoon City. He had to do anything to flip their faces and make them admit their sins. Don’t let that tragedy happen here, where you were born and raised. Suddenly, the commandos swarmed around Curtis, causing him to unleash a G-virus and turn into a monster, wiping out anyone who stands in his way.
Leon promptly appeared at the scene. Curtis now lost consciousness. He sees Angela as nutritious food because she is related to him. This is followed by a series of persistent chases between Curtis and Angela-Leon; everything only ends when the structure of the hanging garden of WilPharma collapses. At the same time, Leon gives Curtis a critical shot in the head, ending an ill-fated scientist’s poor life.
Claire was the first person to escape the collapsed building of WilPharma, and she immediately met Senator Davis, who had just landed on the helicopter. She accused Davis of terrorist attacks and G-virus research to save his falling stock, but Davis insisted. Leon appears to confirm Davis has absolutely nothing to do with the whole terrorist plot, but Frederic is behind. He is the inner arm of General Grande, the G-virus collector, and has illegal experiments. The team quickly caught up to capture Frederic. Soon after, he had a conversation with Grande to warn him about the dangers of the G-virus.
It ends with Angela no longer serving in SRT. Leon and Claire set out on their mission. The assassination of Senator Davis led to the bankruptcy of WilPharma. TriCell appeared to collect what was left of the disaster as a sign of a new force about rising.
