Among the Tyrant created, Nemesis in the Resident Evil 3 storyline is probably the perfect creature, when it is surprisingly smart.
With the remake release coming April 3, 2020, now is probably the time for us to revisit the Resident Evil 3 plot a bit. Everyone knows that scaring us the most when playing this part 3 is Nemesis, the monster like death who always follows and hunts Jill anytime anywhere in Raccoon City, the horror for anyone unlucky.
For many people, despite the horror-like appearance, Nemesis in the Resident Evil 3 storyline is a significant artifact, when it is precisely the best biological weapon anyone can think of. Possessing a vast body, unrivaled health comes with the ability to recreate too fictitious, and most importantly, it is brilliant, a machine that follows precisely the commands given. But do you know, in the story of Resident Evil 3, Nemesis is so smart not because it is the next Tyrant, but mainly because it has a “new” brain.
Nemesis’s design in both the Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 3 Remake plots is not much different. It was developed in the Nemesis project to improve the Tyrant T-103 (appeared in part 2 ) into more mature biological weapons. Nemesis is researched and developed by the Umbrella branch, just like many other BOW models to become weapons and commercially available.
The T-Virus discovery was a huge step forward for the organization, but its undesirable side effects were unsuitable as private weapons. Developments from 1988 onwards, such as animal hosts or Chimera, did not bring good results. Still, later, Hunter or Cerberus also stopped at a potential level. Although it is understandable and compliant with a few basic commands, they lack the intelligence and power to perform tougher tasks in the long run.
Phase 2 of the project began with the introduction of Tyrant, really respectable biological machines with enormous size and power, and the mass-produced T-103 model helped somewhat to the Umbrella problem. However, a long time ago, they still wanted something more perfect, a Tyrant with more superior intelligence, and that was when the Nemesis project was born.
Nemesis in Resident Evil 3 Remake
Scientists at the European branch branched off on their research, not focusing on improving the fitness of existing Tyrant models, instead of thinking about making them a brain. “New” – the one that will receive orders and perform on behalf of the host. The new project revolves around finding a suitable parasite that can take Tyrant’s brain and replace it, which takes more than ten years because most experiments fail, and the host both refuse this parasite (except for the case of Lisa Trevor).
It was not until 1998 that Umbrella succeeded in creating the T-102 and the T-103 mass clone. The European branch used a large amount of T-103 to research and eventually made the first Nemesis. In the Resident Evil 3 storyline, the Nemesis we see is nicknamed “Pursuer” – or the hunter, and only two Nemesis models were born during this time.
Many wonder why Nemesis is so perfect that it is produced so little, the answer is the lack of an experimental host, and the price is too high. A Nemesis has two individuals, Tyrant as animals. The owner comes with a NE-α Type parasite to make the brain. The high level of elimination and the waiting time for NE-α Type to take over the host without killing it, plus Umbrella’s fear that Nemesis is too smart, will become self-aware and respond to orders. The NE-α Type parasite in the Resident Evil 3 plot
Now let’s talk about the NE-α Type parasite – the most beautiful creature the European branch has ever created in the Resident Evil 3. storyline. What you see in the game is just a Tyrant that has been NE- α Type parasite, a hollow corpse with the brain and nerves entirely under control and act independently. So when I say that Nemesis is smart, it’s entirely thanks to NE-α Type, but that Tyrant T-103 itself doesn’t have any brains at all.
NE-α Type will be implanted in the host form as a cell. Then it will slowly grow into the nervous system. In this process, it will “eat” all the wires and the brain. The host’s brain until at least enough strength to turn into a second brain, as well as complete control of the host. Because of such a complicated development process, it will be lost entirely if it is unsuccessful because NE-α Type will be automatically discarded and die if the host refuses to receive it. The worst thing is that even the Tyrant who was born with it in the first place is no longer able to work because there is no brain left.
The intelligence of NE-α Type is considered to be too terrible because it is precisely a particular parasite, not a machine like a Tyrant. Several studies have shown that NE-α Type can even reach a level close to that of a human, meaning that it can think, learn, and adapt itself over time. In the story of Resident Evil 3, we see that Nemesis is already horrible with the ability to pronounce and use weapons. Still, in reality, that is only a potential part of NE-α Type only.

The NE-α Type itself is also an intermediary for the transmission of the T-Virus. You may notice the long tubes growing on Nemesis, and they are both the blood vessels and nerves of the parasite exposed. The parasite acts as a virus syringe. This is a huge leap forward that has never been done because Tyrant was previously nearly non-infectious. Another possibility is that the NE-α Type also converts the conversion rate via T-Virus faster in The injured part. Thanks to that, Nemesis was able to recover from the dizziness we saw.
The case of Brad Vickers is a complex example of the infectious ability of NE-α Type. As we all know, in the story of Resident Evil 3, this coward guy was stabbed to death by Nemesis in the front yard of the office. Raccoon police. There are a few hypotheses here when Brad later turned into a Zombie, that he was bitten and infected before, but it does not rule out the possibility that he got a virus when Nemesis’s trunk was plugged into the head. But one important point is that Brad’s transformation into Zombie is much earlier than usual, showing that using NE-α Type taps is useful in speeding up the pace.
The characteristics of Nemesis are similar to those of normal T-103s in combat spikes. You may notice them always wearing thick cloaks because this is not only an object to hide their identity. Such as bulletproof or explosion-proof, but also serves as an artificial “lock”. Every time a part of Tyrant’s cape is lost, it will expose its body and begin to transform. In the case of Nemesis, its entire body will be “bathed” in the T-Virus from NE- α Type secreted continuously, so the more seriously injured, Nemesis evolved like crazy.
Unlike the use of a claw in his hand like Tyrant, Nemesis’s brain in the Resident Evil 3 plot is originally a parasite, so it makes use of its body (which is the tentacles that grow longer) to fight. This could accidentally hurt Nemesis’ brain if NE-α Type were damaged, but the right side was to speed up the mutation process.
In theory, if Nemesis could immediately attack and destroy NE-α Type, then Nemesis would also die since, at that time, it would no longer have “brains”, but this usually did not happen in the game. Nemesis was also smart enough to find another source of life when she was injured, like the fact that she ate a T-103 at the end of the game to turn into a bizarre, muddy, legless group.

Nemesis is an extraordinary creature in Resident Evil 3 when it converges everything from intelligence the power to strong mutability.
