What is a DAA file?
A file with the DAA file extension is a Direct Access file. They look like ISO files because they can be copies of a full disc, but have some advantages over ISO like compressing and splitting files.
Some DAA files can be encrypted, password-protected after, and even subdivided into smaller files as files .part01.daa, file.part02.daa, etc.
The Direct Access Archive Format is a proprietary document developed by the same creator of the disc imaging software PowerISO.
How to Open a DAA file
Direct access DAA files can be opened, created, and burned to disc using PowerISO.
For Windows, the Pismo Archive test package will mount the DAA file as a virtual disk. This makes Windows think there is a real disc inserted even if one doesn’t have it. It is useful, so you do not have to burn the DAA files to a disc before using it. AcetoneISO does the same, but for Linux.
MagicISO and UltraISO can also open DAA files.
Some free file compression/release tools can also open DAA files, which will allow you to access the files without having to write the files to disk or without having to mount DAA files as a virtual disk.
How to Convert a DAA File |
Although DAA files are tightly designed for PowerISO, there are a few methods to convert DAA to ISO so you can burn it to disc using image burning software like ImgBurn.
One way to convert a DAA file to an ISO format is a tool called.
It is straightforward to use and does not need to be installed on your computer. It even supports multiple DAA files. TechZilo has a picture tutorial that explains how to use DAA2ISO.

You cannot convert a DAA file to MP3, PDF, or any other like that. Since DAA files are disk image files, they can be converted to other disk image formats, making it possible to convert DAA to ISO.
